When A16 drops, I'll work on a new list and try to keep it updated with the mods as they get updated. Everything here claims to work on A15, but I haven't tested anything I'm not playing myself. I skipped some of the smaller tweaks and mods since there are a lot of them (though if someone thinks one is noteworthy, I'll add it). So I've compiled a few lists and links I've found around here and there (mostly found on 7 Days to Die forum, and put them all together. Right now I think Undead Legacy probably has the best compromise of the two systems, having a point upgrading system but also incorporating learning by doing to further boost the skill.I was looking for a mod list, but never found anything too complete. The logic being the more you wear the type of armor the more accustomed your are to it, and your constant adjusting it leads it to sit better, giving you improved mobility and increased protection. Two ways around it is for armor not to have a skill, OR, for armor skills to increase with distance traveled while wearing the type of armor. So the system punishes you for your skill, and rewards you for your carelessness. But I can only increase armor skills by getting hit. If I'm a good player, I can melee zombies without getting hit. Learning by doing doesn't work well specifically the way they implemented it for armor skills. Its always a 'I agree to disagree' kind of ending. I've had this conversation on and off over the years and usually neither party is convinced of the others point of view on this topic. You're right, it was an inflammatory remark to be sure. "you can't throw that out there without elaborating at least a little bit" That would be an awesome way to mitigate the contentious opinions of each system and instead just let people play however they prefer to play. That said, I honestly wish they would implement all their systems and allow players to choose which one they'd like to use when generating a new world. But, after seeing Madmole talk more about his time with it, I've decided to wait to cast judgment until I play it. The upcoming alpha with learn by looting a gazillion magazines.that just seems all sorts of wonky. In multiplayer, however, you definitely had to cheese it if you wanted to keep up with everyone else (who were cheesing it). The onus was squarely on the player to decide how they wanted to play. TFP had it dialed-in perfectly for those who didn't cheese the system. I thought it worked wonderfully for its time in respective alpha iterations - at least in single-player.
